Why I am a Trainer

Orange County Trainers

Today, I have three Whippets in my home, Keeper, Jude and Fitz. Over the last 20 years our Whippets have learned obedience, agility, lure coursing, oval and straight racing, dog freestyle, nosework, flyball and rally. They love to run at the speed of light and chase anything that moves. I have grown personally as I’ve travelled through my life with these canine companions.

I am a dog trainer because I believe anyone who has taken a dog under their wing deserves support through the difficult times our canine companions may bring into our lives. Pet guardians often need a guide who will offer them positive methods to help them navigate in-home and about-town canine behavior.

Those of our dogs who have trouble being alone need special, individual-specific training plans, which require a unique set of skills and knowledge. I feel for both dog and the pet guardians who struggle daily with the challenges these separation-related behavioral issues create. I have trained extensively to provide sound, science-based training methods to improve the lives of the dog and the family.

I am a Certified Dog Trainer and have earned a CTC (Certification in Training and Counseling) from the renowned Academy for Dog Trainers and a ABCDT (Certified Dog Trainer) from the Animal Behavior College.  I have received a CSAT (Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer) and a SA Pro certificate (Separation Anxiety Professional Trainer). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Patience, Kindness, Consistency. These are three simple key human behaviors needed to build an unbreakable bridge of understanding between you and your pet.
